Small groups are a place to encounter God, deepen relationships and reach out to our friends. They are dynamic communities that are growing and multiplying, and are a great way to get more involved with life at City Church. We welcome anyone who wishes to come along, and meet at various times and in various locations across Lancaster and beyond. Our groups are based on relationships, not geography, so find the one that fits you best!
We love our students at City! We are a family church and students are invited to be a part of that family, whether that means connecting with a small group, joining our serving teams or building long-lasting friendships in our community. At this exciting and crucial stage of life, we want to help our students grow in faith and feel equipped to serve God in all areas of life. We hope you’ll feel welcome and at home with us.
We run a series of events on Sunday evenings throughout the first term – this gives students an opportunity to meet new people in a fun and relaxed setting, and helps give them an understanding of the City Church vision. Check out what’s going on.
Upper Room is the City church youth group. It’s aimed at 11 – 18 year olds, and meets on Monday evenings from 7pm – 8.30pm. A typical youth evening involves games, worship, Bible teaching, friendship, prayer, and lots and lots of laughs! We are passionate about reaching young people at City Church, and want to help them grow in their relationship with God and friendships with one another.
Families & Children
Little Acorns is our children’s group aimed at 0-4 year olds. On a Sunday, they meet at 2.20pm in Classroom 1, where parents will be asked to sign their children in. Your children can expect to enjoy taking part in various activities, from playing with toys, Bible stories, singing and arts and crafts.
Going Nuts! is for 5-11 year olds. You can join them on Sundays at 3.15pm in Classroom 2, where the team will be ready to meet you! Week to week the fun varies through games, drama, songwriting, food, dancing and arts and crafts, with the Going Nuts! team committed in helping our children learn more about who Jesus is and what it means to follow Him.
All our children’s workers are DBS checked and work in accordance with our safeguarding policy. If you would like to know more, please contact us.
